Digital learning
BYOD program
The use of digital technologies is an important component of the Victorian Curriculum F-10. At University High School, we promote an educational journey into the 21st Century with the integration of learning devices in our classrooms. As a result, students are part of a bring-your-own-device (BYOD) program. Students are encouraged to bring a device with a connected keyboard to access their learning here at school.
This program provides anytime, anywhere access to information and learning, equipping students with the skills they will need and their integration into a global community. Our aim is to develop in students a high level of digital skills and knowledge which will enrich their lifelong learning and enhance their employment opportunities.
The individual use of personal devices is a way to empower students to work to their full potential and develop essential learning habits as future-ready and globally-minded young adults through the support of digital tools.
Google Workspace
We are committed to providing opportunities for students to develop their digital literacy and become confident and creative users of digital solutions through the application of information systems and digital programs. The learning and teaching program at school is enhanced by the integrated use of digital technologies and a range of learning platforms.
At University High School, our teaching and learning is delivered through the Google Workspace Education platform. Through Google Classroom and its full range of resource suites, students can benefit from learning that is interactive, collaborative, personalised, engaging and transformative.
These digital technologies enable our students to interact with and create high quality content, resources and tools to enhance our students’ success and engagement at school. It also enables personalised learning that is tailored to students’ particular needs and interests by allowing teachers and students to explore a new world of curriculum possibilities. The digital teaching and learning platforms also allows for effective ways for assessment, reporting and feedback to be delivered to students.
Through a range of digital learning technologies, students at University High School will develop valuable skills and knowledge that prepares them to thrive in a globalised and interconnected world.
