2027 Year 8-12 Applications – processing starts

On Tuesday 9th June 2026, we begin processing Year 8 to 12 Applications for 2027. Please collect an application form as outlined below here.

Please ensure you submit your completed application form with all requested documentation by Wednesday 15th of July 2026.

Please be aware University High School is currently experiencing a high level of demand for places and is under The Department’s Enrolment Management Plan. Places can only be offered to students in the first two categories of The Department’s Priority Order as per the The Department’s Placement Policy.

PLEASE NOTE: The above is not a strict deadline. You are welcome to submit your application at any time of the year, including through to the end of the year and through the summer holidays. All 2027 Year 8 to 12 applications received after Wednesday 15th July 2026, will be processed as soon as possible. Families will be notified of the outcome to their application after outcomes are released to students who submitted their application by the due date above. All applications received are processed as quickly as possible in order of receipt.

Outcome released

All completed applications the school received by Monday 3rd of August 2026, will be advised of their outcome from Monday 3rd of August onwards. Parents/carers will need to accept the offer by Monday 10th of August 2026. Further instruction to be provided.
This will include a subject preference form for years 9-12 2027.
Students in years 9-12 must return a completed subject preference form as part of the offer acceptance.

PLEASE NOTE: Complete applications refer to applications that have been submitted with all requested documentation by Monday 15th of July 2026. An outcome may be delayed if additional documentation is required.

Welcome and Information Packs

A welcome enrolment pack will be emailed from Wednesday 16th of September 2026.

Other enrolment packs will be sent during the remainder of Term 4

From Wednesday 16th of September 2026
2026 Applications received after wednesday 15th July 2026

All 2027 Year 8 to 12 applications received after Wednesday 15th of July 2026 will be processed in order of receipt. Families will be notified of the outcome after outcomes are released to students who submitted their complete application by the due date above. All applications are processed in order of receipt.

New arrivals to Australia for whom English is an additional language

It should be noted that students who have arrived in Australia from predominantly Non-English Speaking Countries (NESCs) will also be tested by the school within the first few weeks of beginning at University High School. This helps ensure that students are placed in the correct classes and receive any additional assistance to support their learning.

Some students may be advised to attend a language school for more intensive English learning before re-enrolling at University High School (ongoing eligibility will need to be verified).

Parents may submit a written appeal to the school, addressed attention to the Principal Nick Scott, via email at enrolment@unihigh.vic.edu.au, or in person at the General Office during opening hours (8.30am-4.30pm).

Mid-Year Applications for Year 7 to 12 Enrolment in 2026

You may submit an application to University High School at any time throughout the year.

Please note that students who enrol mid-year are unlikely to have a choice of subjects for the current academic year.

Please note: The Enrolment Committee seek to review applications and provide an outcome to families as soon as possible. However, if additional documentation is requested, an outcome may be delayed. A delay in receiving an outcome may also result if you submit an application form just prior to, or during a term break.

As per Department guidelines, you should not be exiting your child from their existing school unless they have an approved enrolment at another school, unless you have moved from interstate or overseas.
